When I was a child, I remember being overly excited for the summer time. Summer months not only meant NO school, but it was finally time for VBS (Vacation Bible School) or my summer camps! There was a Bible camp in Pennsylvania that I loved to go to. The one camp that I did not mind if my friends joined me or not...either way, sign me up! It was at that camp that my love and hate relationship with campfires and the outdoors began. Ha! It’s by the grace of God that I did not meet any of the bears that I am sure were waiting for me in the midst of the forest. My worship however...it was different. It was intimate and it was free. I was free to worship God and draw closer to him. On top of that, I was surrounded by other children or youth, who also could not contain their praise and worship. Fast forward to today. Where every event has to have a campfire, even though I do not have a permit and I am still running away from bears. Nonetheless, I wanted my Light of the World Christian Ministries church family to experience some of the memories that I experienced. In January 2020, I called Jaz one night and told her about what we now know as His Praise Our Worship. We stayed up all night trying to create a design for a logo. We laughed at the H-POW but realized we could not have it any other way. God has continued to allow us to use our creativity to change lives- and we won’t stop now. Two friends in Christ with not only the love of God in common but a desire to change or inspire the lives of our young people. God will continue to reign and we are just his vessels waiting to be used. Go ahead, get involved, we have lives to save :-) not even a pandemic can stop us from planning these events!
